Buena Vista Social Club - Green Point, Cape Town
07.28.05 (6:02 pm)   [edit]

Buena Vista Social club in Green Point, Cape Town is a great venue for social drinks and dinner. With a good selection of cigars to complement the Cuban feel, you're sure to have a night of fun with a bunch of friends. They have a nice cocktail menu and the Mochito's are GREAT!

Be sure to make reservations early to avoid dissappointment. They have some comfy couches which are great for groups of 4-6 people.

La Perla Restaurant in Sea Point, Cape Town
07.25.05 (5:48 pm)   [edit]

La Perla is one of those restaurants that stood the test of time, offering exquisite cuisine that adapted with time, yet still retaining the classic culinary vinesse that it has always been known for. Situated on the beachfront in Sea Point, Cape Town, it is easily accessible from central Cape Town, Camps Bay or any of the other near by suburbs of Cape Town.

With a restaurant as well as loungey bar sec tion, La Perla caters for sport fans wanting to watch their game of choice on the wide screen TV or the serious patrons wanting top qaulity service from their famous waiters. These guys have serious manners and come highly recommended. Tip them well, they deserve it!

Parking is ample and they are open for after work drinks, which is always a joyous occation with free snacks in the bar/lounge. Mind you, during sporting events, you will be treated to free snacks ranging from popcorn, to calamari and pastry finger snacks and even biltong! They know how to let you work up a serious thirst!!

Club Mint opening in Cape Town
07.16.05 (3:16 pm)   [edit]

The opening of club Mint turned out to be quite eventful. Only the bottom floor was open to patrons and it's got a nice vibe. Not in the league of Miam Miam, but still an alternative. The crowd was quite young.

Later in the night a police crackdown on Long Street resulted in club Mint having to close its doors because of a liquire license dispute. A letdown for all and an early night for the young crowd...

Rafiki's Restaurant in Cape Town
07.10.05 (9:44 am)   [edit]

For years I've driven past Rafiki's on the way to Camps Bay over Kloof Nek and never actually gone there. Famous for it's good food and open balcony drinks in summer, this is a great spot for the 21+ crowd. Rafiki's also have lekka specials like Sushi on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (it's on at the moment, dunno whether it's a permanent thing) with African Jazz bands and other selected artists playing rythmic fusion music. Directions? Well, drive with Buitengracht Street towards Kloof Nek. It's at the robot at the bottom of the hill (That's South African directions for you, right?!)
